I was a bit thrown off at first by the "earthy taste" but that is because it is composed of natural resources so I use it after flossinh and brushing and love it leaves my mouth feeling refreshed!

This Plantonin Healthy Gum Spray has a strong, spicy and somewhat bitter taste that seems mostly from the black pepper and ginger. I don’t mind the taste at all, but it may be intense for some. So far, this spray makes my teeth feel extra smooth and clean, plus my breath feels fresh. And it lasts for many hours after use. I notice less gum pain and sensitivity, and in turn I’m flossing more and my gums are bleeding less. This also feels like it leads to increased saliva, so it may be effective for those who have dry mouth issues.
I can’t speak to any long term benefits at this point, but I like this spray enough to keep using it based on the immediate benefits. It seems like it may have longer term gum benefits based on the benefits I already notice plus reading I’ve done about the ingredients. I’ve read bacteria is the most common cause of gum disease. This spray, which I assume is food grade as it’s labeled a “food supplement”, has ingredients that are antibacterial, anti inflammatory and/or have potential pain relieving properties.
In short, I’ve read Totarol is antibacterial and fights strep that’s in plaque, so it may help fight gingivitis and gum disease. Hops has tannins that kill bacteria and inhibit bacterial growth, so it’s protective of gums and keeps teeth less filmy and cleaner. Black pepper is antibacterial and anti inflammatory and may help repair damage once plaque is removed, as well as help remove bacteria and pesticides from the mouth and digestive tract. Ginger may help remove plaque, decrease oral pain and improve digestion.
As to negatives, swallowing is recommended but that’s rather unappealing to me. It’s a small volume of spray and I don’t mind the taste, but I end up with a mouthful of saliva that I’d rather spit out. I’m not sure if the direction to swallow is simply for convenience so this can be used even on-the-go, or if there’s a benefit. If the latter, perhaps swallowing aids digestion and/or kills bad bacteria but I can’t really say. If there’s a good reason for it, I’m sure I can get used to it. I’ll update if I find out more about that issue.
Also, I’ve read glycerin should be avoided in oral care products as it can inhibit remineralization as it’s sticky, so it can prevent saliva from making contact with the entire tooth surface. Further, while the formula seems good to me, I’m not educated enough in this area to know if there’s any downside to using this spray routinely over time as opposed to just now and then. For example, if this spray kills bad bacteria, it may also kill friendly bacteria my body needs. I have no idea if that’s a potential issue or not, or if there’s any reason why I shouldn’t use this spray regularly.
For now, however, I’m pleased with how this spray makes my gums, mouth and teeth feel and will continue using it in as desired or needed. As to using this spray routinely over time, I do feel I’ll need to see if I experience noticeable improvements in my gum health and also want to consult my dentist about whether there’s any reason why this wouldn’t be appropriate for me to use longer term. Definitely stimulates saliva production. After using, I can feel extra saliva secretion which prevent dry mouth. I am not a fan of the beginning taste. I think the GINGER makes it a bit overpowering at first for me although I can easily tolerate it IF it helps prevent gum disease! Can had some deformities upon arrival but was not leaking.
Everybody has different taste preferences so what I think is strong ginger may be some other taste for some people. The claims are impressive. Hope that it will prevent gum disease! If keeping the mouth moist keeps the gum healthy, then this mouth spray should do the trick.

This will be a new experience if you never try this type of product before. The strong and powerful hops, totarol & ginger taste is minty, with a little bitter after taste. It supposes to relieve bleeding gums, defend against gingivitis, destroy plaque and kill harmful gems. It also increase mouth saliva and keep the gum healthy.
The small spray can is only 1.7 fl oz in size but the bottle I received was depressed with 2 dents on it, at the front and at the back of the can.
Not everyone could handle the powerful strong taste. You will either love it or hate it.

I like the taste of this spray. It doesn’t burn and it leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh! Halitosis is no more with this amazing spray!
